This is a non-sterile prescription device for single patient use to provide a localized external application of cold therapy.

How to use IceMan CLEAR3 Cold Therapy Unit

Add ice to the level indicated inside the unit then add 2 quarts or 2 liters of water.
Apply the site specific pad to the area to be treated. Pad should be applied over a thin layer of gauze or stockinette. Do not apply cooling pad directly to the skin.
Connect the cooling pad to the hose extending from the cooler, making sure the connectors snap into place tightly together
Plug power supply into the wall.
Connect the power supply cord provided with the unit to the connector located on the front of the cooler. This will immediately start the motorized pump. WARNING: use only the power supply that came with this unit. DonJoy P/N 13-4882-0-00000. Failure to do this could damage the pump, the power supply or both.
Adjust temperature control on the hand console starting at the blue dot (allow 10 minutes for temperature to stabilize) and adjust to temperature prescribed by physician. (Temperature indicated by the thermometer.)
When ice has melted, refill with ice and water. (Make sure device is unplugged during refilling procedure.)

How to store and clean DonJoy IceMan CLEAR3?

Unplug the power supply from the electrical outlet.
Disconnect pad from the hose.
Drain cooler and wipe dry.
Drain pad by holding so that the hose is hanging downward.
Press in the buttons at the end of the hose and allow all water to drain out of the pad.
If cleaning is necessary: wipe down the device and hand wash pads and wraps with mild soap and warm water. Air dry

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Do not use DonJoy IceMan CLEAR3 Cold Therapy Unit With Shoulder Pad on patients with:

Raynaud's phenomenon or other vasospastic conditions
Buerger's disease
cold allergy or hypersensitivity
cryoglobulinemia
paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria or other cold agglutinin disorders
pheochromocytoma sickle cell anemia or history of cold injury.
